COMMENT ON NUMBER PORTABILITY

"It is not a network quality issue, it is a customer choice issue, and it is a complicated infrastructure to put in place, when the time comes it would be available here , and it is not a major issue for us, but it is a very complex technological challenge. It is being implemented in South Africa, about ten percent of the client have taken advantage of it. We think that the quality of our network has at the time when this happens would be such a big flop to us when number portability arrives. So it is not something that intimidates us, something that we would work towards with the regulator and the operators over time to bring. But it would no characterize as an issue of network quality, it is not a panacea, it is not going to solve problems, it may provide a little bit of additional choice to customers. In a market like ours when Sims are so cheap, people switch network any ways, so we would not add a lot to the mix."
